Starting May 1, 2014, “NBC Comedy Playground” will accept your submissions for a new show. So if you’ve ever watched a show on T.V. and said , “I’m way funnier than that schlock,” here’s your chance. (Finally worked schlock into an article – check that one off the bucket list.)
First, get your idea past the network execs. Then, you have two different chances to win. Impress a rather notable line-up of comic advisors to become one of two on-air winners or get the most votes online to become the digital winner. If you are thinking about entering be sure to check out the official rules before applying. And good luck!

Bruce Timm Returns to Batman Animation
DC announced that the legendary Bruce Timm is returning to his roots and creating a new Batman short entitled Batman: Strange Days. It features the Caped Crusader against the antics of Arkham’s Dr. Hugo Strange. It will debut on April 9th, alongside a new episode of Teen Titans Go!
Bruce Timm (along with Paul Dini) revolutionized animated features when the created Batman: The Animated Series. Many consider it one of, if not the, best animated series to grace television screens. I’m liable to agree with them, the series holds up to this day. It truly captured what’s great about Batman and Gotham with a stunning creative team.
Hence all the excitement for Bruce Timm’s return to Batman. His considerable talents have helped create some of Bruce Wayne’s finest moments, and here’s hoping he will again. We’ll find out on April 9th when the short airs.
Holly Hunter (“Saving Grace” and “The Incredibles”), Callan Mulvey (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “300: Rise of an Empire”), and Tao Okamoto (“The Wolverine”) will be joining the growing cast for the 2016 Batman vs. Superman movie. Don’t try to guess which DC characters they will be portraying, though, as it has been reported that their characters were newly created for the film.
Batman vs. Superman is currently scheduled to release on May 6, 2016.
