Let’s just call it Justice League and get it over with, OK?
Forever Evil Finale Delayed
Today, DC announced that the finale of Forever Evil (#7), Nightwing #30 (series finale as well) and Justice League #29 have been delayed from their initial release dates from later this month. Delayed how much you may ask? Two months. Two whole months. Tell you what. This better be a damn good issue.
Forever Evil started in September and has slowly been coming out roughly once a month. It hasn’t been the most exciting event, but the last couple issues were pretty good and I’ve been looking forward to the finale and how things change in it. Now they’re just drawing out the agony. But here’s the thing: I can tell you what happens in the end.
Technically, he’s already dead. Having died at the end of issue six after Lex killed him to save everyone else. Now, Lex might be able to save him, but probably not. Ever since issue one it’s felt like a waiting game until Dick’s death. There’s one more issue of Nightwing’s series (not written by Kyle Higgins, who has written the book since issue one). Unless they have some super mega change in store planned for Dick, he’s probably dead, with Bruce and Lex unable to save him and the last issue is the memorial issue.
I mean, I would love to be wrong. I would love for Dick Grayson to show up somewhere else, but for now I don’t see anything referencing Dick at all in the solicits or any other preview or news. This could be well kept spoilers, but how good is DC at keeping things under wraps? Pretty poor if you ask me. No my friends, I believe it’s best to brace yourselves for the inevitable. Dick Grayson is going to die.
Personally this really annoys me as a fan. There are currently three characters that I follow in the New 52. Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, and Kate Kane. In two months, I’ll be down to two. Seriously DC (and by DC I mean Dan DiDio).
A further dive into forums reveal a rumor of a Nightwing and Bluebird (Harper Row) book in June. Nothing concrete, but perhaps a bit of hope. But perhaps not. Either way, this two month delay is going to be killer.
The delay for Justice League is easier to explain. That’s when Lex joins the League after his actions in Forever Evil.
See you in two months.

Future Green Lantern of Earth Announced
Girl Power! Did I speak to soon? My apologies, it’s been announced though that there will be a…
You first saw her during Geoff Johns’ Green Lantern finale issue, and now it’s official: Earth’s next Green Lantern is a woman.
Remember our story from earlier this week where Stephen Amell commented that he’d had discussions about appearing in a Justice League movie?
Now he says he was misquoted, and he’s pretty angry about it.
So it seems Lex Luthor is going to become the new leader of the Justice League.
Yeah, we just said that.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has confirmed that the new all-ages animated feature JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time will hit DVD on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014. The DVD-only release will be available exclusively at American Target locations starting next week. JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time features the greatest heroes of DC Comics squaring off against their most challenging foes.
Dubbed a “stealth release,” wherein a home entertainment product is given no promotion and limited availability due to its perceived audience reach, JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time is an all-new original movie featuring the Justice League facing off against the classic Legion of Doom. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has currently not provided any official details about the animated movie, but JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time producer Giancarlo Volpe (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) has recently taken to social media to drop a few tidbits.
OK, first of all, let’s just start calling it Justice League and get it over with, OK? We’ve got Wonder Woman confirmed, and the Flash rumored, and now there are reports that Denzel Washington is being considered to play John Stewart, otherwise known as the minority Green Lantern that doesn’t tick off intolerant folks as much.
Take this rumor with a grain of salt. That being said, what do you think?
This is never good..
Oh, good. This is going to happen now.
Trailer for Justice League War: The New 52 Arrives in the DCAU
The new 52 started with the Justice League just meeting each other for the first time and teaming up to save the world against Darkseid. The upcoming Justice League War animated movie is based on the first arc of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s rejittering of the JL. As was seen in stills Wonder Woman once again gets a new costume without a bustier. I quite like it. I could still do without her sword play.
LOL, casually blocks omega beam.
We’re not really feeling Wonder Woman’s new outfit.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox won’t release on Blu-ray and DVD until July 30th, but 4000 fortunate fans will be able to catch the premiere tonight at San Diego Comic Con.
Couldn’t make it to SDCC? Don’t worry. The Flashpoint Paradox will be available for digital download today. In the meantime, check out this newly released clip from DC’s latest animated film.
The fact that DC’s next animated film after Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox was going to be Justice League: War is no surprise. The title has been floating around the interwebs for quite some time now. But finally we have some details as to what War will be all about.
Justice League: War will be based on Origin, the first New 52 Justice League arc by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee. Origin tells the story of how the Justice League first banded together to fight Darkseid and his armies. In the comic book world, with Geoff John’s Flashpoint being the cause of DC’s New 52 and Origin being the first arc to debut, we have to wonder if Warner Bros/DC will begin to have their animated films connect in an overall animated universe. It would make sense since this is being released after The Flashpoint Paradox.
Two voice actors have already been revealed for Justice League: War and they are Jason O’Mara (Vegas) as Batman and Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds) as Cyborg.
That’s all the news on that front so far. With San Diego Comic Con right around the corner I’m sure there will e more news on Justice League: War coming up. We’ll keep you posted.
UPDATE: World’s Finest Online reports Michelle Monaghan (Source Code) will be voicing Wonder Woman, Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty) will voice The Flash, Alan Tudyk (Firefly) will voice Superman, and Justin Kirk (Weeds) will voice Green Lantern. Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Parts 1 & 2) will be directing.
If you don’t want spoilers, don’t read any further. Seriously.
Because it apparently needed to be repeated over and over, Christian Bale has - once again - confirmed that he won’t be playing Batman in the possible Justice League movie set for 2015. So… check back here in three months for a repeat of this story.
